I love the look of some of these mini trainers for babies. I am assuming that as mini-me isn't walking yet, that as long as they fit properly, they shouldn't hurt or damage his feet?

You should be fine as long as they aren't too tight on his little feet. They can't be too loose either - they have a tendency to remove them!! If he's not walking or anything, then you don't need the support offered by proper children's shoes.
